Terry Tyler Hall, age 72, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on Saturday, June 15, 2024. He was born in Radford, Virginia to Avria Ethridge and Mattie May Hall. Terry was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle. The family wishes to send a heartfelt thank you to his beloved friend and physician, Dr. Perry Carlos and his wife Sharon.
Terry’s career began at age 19 with United Parcel Service. A dedicated employee, he humbly started by washing package cars and successfully worked his way into management with several promotions and relocations. He was blessed to be able to retire to Florida at age 55.
Terry was an avid antique car collector, buying, restoring, and selling them as his retirement hobby. He was also the ultimate car connoisseur, owning many unique and rare cars throughout the years. He and his wife Vickie shared a passion for attending and participating in car auctions, affording them exciting travel to many areas of the country.
An exemplary “Granddaddy,” Terry was so proud of his nine grandchildren, cherishing special moments with each. His favorite pastime was attending their many activities as he was their biggest fan, and they were his.
He is survived by his loving wife, Vickie Meador Hall; children: Tiffany Strickland, Tyke (Jennifer) Hall; Travis Hall and Toby (Ali) Hall; grandchildren: Ella Strickland, Reece Strickland, Rhett Strickland, Sydney Hall, Spencer Hall, Shepard Hall, Sadie Hall, Aiden Hall and Ezra Hall; brothers and sisters: Larry (Bonnie) Hall, Avria (Kathy) Hall, Patty (Dave, dec) Conner, Sue (Jim) McAlister, Tim (Kim) Hall and Chelsea (Richie) Hurst; many special nieces and nephews; longtime friends: Glen and Dianna Joerger, David This and Judy Ayers; and a host of extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Thursday, June 20, 2024, at Maranatha Church of Jacksonville, 7550 Collins Road, Jacksonville, FL 32244 with visitation held 1-1:45 pm at the church. Services will be conducted by Terry’s nephew, Pastor Erik Wilson. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery, 4801 San Jose Blvd., Jacksonville, FL.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that memorial donations be made in Terry’s honor to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, www.JDRF.org.
