Janet C. Gentilini (Harris) passed away April 3, 2018 of natural causes. She was born August 31, 1926 in Baltimore, Maryland and resided in Fleming Island Florida for the last 3 years. Janet was a Graduate of the Saint Louis Municipal School of Nursing in 1947 where she volunteered for the Nurse Cadet Corps during WW II. Her 50 year nursing career was primarily spent as a Nursing Supervisor at the Max C. Starkloff Memorial Hospital (Saint Louis City Hospital) and several years at BJC Hospital on the Oncology floor in St Louis . She enjoyed spending time with her family Her compassion and caring for others extended beyond her nursing career. Her hobbies included singing for many Church choirs and with the Sweet Adeline Group. She loved to travel; visiting Russia, Spain, Philippines, Japan, Belize, Canada, Alaska, Mexico, Hawaii, California, New York and Colorado. She enjoyed Square Dancing, crocheting and card games. She remained an avid Cardinals Baseball Fan.
Mrs Gentilini is survived by her five children: Susan Gianino (Frank) who resides in Orange Park, FL, John A. Gentilini JR, Bonita K. Garvey (David), David J. Gentilini (Gina) and Lisa C. Godoski who reside in the ST Louis area. She has 8 Grand children: Angela, Tara, Nicholas, Justin, John III, Shelley, Nicole and David. She has 10 Great Grand Children: Olivia, Justin Jr, Isabelle, Ava, Ryker, Mackenzie, Hunter, Brooklyn, Sophia and Mason. Her extended family includes William and Marilyn Farabee, their two daughters and two Grandsons.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John A Gentilini Sr in 1964, her parents James C. Harris and Nellie Mae (Eaton) Harris, her brothers Chester (Jerry), James and her sister June Harris.
A private burial will be held at Jefferson Barracks Cemetery in St Louis.
