Richard D. “Traveling Hawk” Henderson, age 76, passed away on October 4, 2012 in Select Specialty Hospital in Edgewood, Florida. Richard was a member of the V.F.W., loved reading and enjoyed old John Wayne Western movies, traveled and worked all around the world. Richard was working in Vietnam as a civilian contractor, when he met his wife of 22 years, Mon-Mai Thi.
Richard is survived by his wife of 22 years, Mon-Mai Thi Henderson, 3 sons, Tuan-Beau Henry Henderson, Quy-Jon Richard Henderson and Minh-Pierre Thomas Henderson; 1 sister, Peggy Henderson Evans and 6 grandchildren, Grace Hannah, Emma Mai-ly, Chloe Jane, Mischa Mai-Xuan, Tammy Mai-Tien and Lily Claire Henderson.
Friends will be received at Deltona Memorial Funeral Home, 1295 Saxon Blvd., Orange City, Florida PH: 386-775-4260 on Monday, October 8, 2012 from 5 – 8 pm.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 9, 2012 at 9 am in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Road, Jacksonville, FL 32218
