John “Johnny” Petrella, 64, of Deltona, Florida, passed away on October 7, 2024 after his formidable battle against Cancer. He was born in Warwick, Rhode Island on November 13, 1959 to Biagio Petrella and Betty Lucier. Johnny graduated from Coventry High School. He met his wife Denise DiCarlo 48 years ago, they were married on August 2, 1986 beginning a loving marriage of 38 years.
Johnny had a career in brake manufacturing before becoming disabled. He had a passion for family, Classic Rock music, Harley Davidson, Westerns, fishing, watching sports, spending time with friends at Blackie’s, and had an extreme fondness for his cats BooRoo, Misfit, Tiggy and Boots as well as his grandcats, Quatto and Wolfie. Johnny was lovingly known by his family as a “one man band” filling his home with quirky noises and phrases.
Johnny is survived by his beloved wife, Denise; children, Jocelyn Arciola, Janel Giunta and her husband Joe; grandchildren, Makenzie and Mason Arciola; sister, JoAnn Burton; and loving extended family. He is preceded in death by his siblings, Joseph Petrella and James Petrella.
