Curtis Thompson

Curtis was born February 17, 1955, in Brownsville, Tennessee. He was a hard worker, retiring from UPS after 30 years of service. He enjoyed yard work, gardening and collecting coins. He had an appreciation for cars of all makes and years. Curtis was a great cook and his specialty was banana pudding. He played semi-pro football for the Shelby Blues and was an avid Cleveland Browns fan. He enjoyed watching any football game on television.

Curtis is survived by his wife of 46 years, Sheila Whitson Thompson; two sons, Ali Rashad Thompson and Alex Jamar Thompson; a daughter, Lashay Sangster; two grandchildren, Simeon Fleming and Simaya Sangster; two sisters, Brenda Taylor and Jacqueline Eatmon Ivey; two brothers, Adolphus Taylor and Oscar Lee Taylor; and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Louise Thompson Sangster; grandmother, Betty Lou Bunch; and two aunts, Hattie Mae Singleton and Stella Mae Taylor.

The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 25, 2024, at Wappner Funeral Directors-Ontario, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. He will be laid to rest in Mansfield Cemetery.
