Bernard Timothy “Tim” Park, 76, of Mansfield, Ohio, passed away at his home on Monday, July 15, 2024, surrounded by his family. He had been in ill health for the past five years, the last year under hospice care.
Born January 29, 1948, to Bernard C. and Troas (Hunter) Park, Tim was a graduate of Mansfield Senior High School, Class of 1966. Upon graduation, he enlisted in the US Air Force and served from 1966 to 1970 in Formosa, and was stationed at Edwards Air Force Base, California.
Tim was a disabled veteran who did much to help others. Whether it was as an Eagle Scout teaching other scouts (BSA #106, Mansfield Blockhouse), woodworking, gardening, family trips or as a stay at home dad helping his wife while she worked, these were all important missions in his life that were so very appreciated.
Tim was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Mansfield, baptized as a child and later served as a youth minister.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Chris (Strome) Park; son, Billy Park (Kate Barr); several second cousins, Dave (Michelle) Tingley, John (Jill) Tingley, Heather (John) Harbeck, Julie Rhodes, Mark (Nancy) Klimowicz, Lynn Klimowicz (Richard Ingwerson), and Pauline Tingley. He was preceded in death by his parents; his stillborn brother, Philip; aunts and uncles, Dorothy and Everette Tingley, Leotta and William Carrier; and cousins, Dave Tingley, Rosemary Peutz and Barbara and Chuck Klimowicz.
The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Monday, July 22, 2024, at Wappner Funeral Directors-Ontario, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road. A graveside service will be held in Mansfield Memorial Park on Friday, August 2, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. Military honors will be presented by the Richland County Joint Veteran Burial Detail. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
