Naor A Guerra was born on February 26,1945 in Mercedes, Texas. He is survived by 4 sisters. Ileana, Idolina (Dolly), Izela and Iris and preceded in death by his parents Nidio and Elva S Guerra, his brothers, Roque Guerra and Roque N Guerra.
Naor, 'Nabor’ or 'Neighbor" as he was known to everyone used to say he was born on "Febrero Loco" and boy he didn’t disappoint! His family can testify to that! There is plenty of stories to tell about him. After graduated from the 8th grade and dropping out of school due to his learning disability, he worked the fields alongside our parents and then at a state sponsored program called the ‘Job Shop”, a facility designed to teach and train mentally disabled people working and living skills. A place Nabor would describe as a place for los locos and retardados and felt somehow the establishment was cheating him! LOL! Another crazy story that would just make you nod and smile or laugh! But, hey, that’s where he met Maria, the Love of His Life! Still another story! He was a resource to the counselors assisting them with the more severe students/clients, becoming somewhat of a supervisor in training! Nabor has retired since then, so, so much for his serious side of life.
Nabor enjoyed baseball coaching and soccer. He was awarded trophies of appreciation for coaching kids. He had the opportunity to see the world-famous soccer player Pele in San Jose. He was well liked by his friends and had many throughout his lifetime! He enjoyed hanging out with them at the local parks, skating rinks, (he was a pro at 70's roller disco), riding his bike and walking all over town until almost midnight. He smoked like a train and loved “A&W” root beer. Literally, liters of it! LOL!
He was a crazy uncle to his nieces and nephews, and they have plenty of stories and fond memories to share. Toward the end of his live, he was a pain in the A…s to me and I’m sure to my siblings as well and we have plenty of those stories and memories to share as well! My husband, Eddie took over most of the responsibilities that required contact with him to spare us from his unpleasantries! ‘Like a Brother”! For that I am so grateful! A pain in the A..s and a hard pill to swallow, but nonetheless, fond memories of you remain in our hearts, Naor.
We Love you, Brother and will Miss You!
