John went to be with the Lord on January 30, 2014 after a long battle with cancer. Born August 28, 1944 to Haagen & Gesina Eggers in Amsterdam Holland. The family immigrated to America in 1958.
John leaves behind his wife Linda Welch Eggers of 30 years and children, Laura (Greg), two sons, Michael and Steven (Sharon). He also had 6 grandchildren. John had two sisters Nelly and Olga (Ron) a brother Erik (Wendy). John is survived by several nieces and nephews. He served in the US Army from 1965-1967 and was deployed to Vietnam. He was employed by GTE from 1968-1998. His favorite pastimes were tinkering with and making wooden furniture. Also going to their 2nd home at the river and boating. Lastly he enjoyed his grandchildren.
