He was born February 18, 1935 in Oneonta, the son of the late Walt and Mildred Renwick. He married Barbara Blanchard on March 15, 1958. They enjoyed roller skating (where they met), square dancing, and country music concerts, then later, traveling.
Walt enjoyed working on his vehicles and remodeling his home. In retirement, he liked playing cards with the “lunch bunch” at the Elm Park church.
He was a truck driver, mainly for Shearers Express and Rydell Bros. He also owned his own trucking business, B & W Trucking. He drove dump truck for Webster’s Paving and he had a motor route for the Daily Star.
He served in the U.S. Army National Guard for 11 plus years.
He is survived by his wife Barbara, his sister Francine Renwick, sisters- in -laws June Porteous, Charlotte Butler, Betty Renwick and brother- in- law Dallas Blanchard (Pat). His daughters and their families Cathy Willey, Lisa Richards, and Wendy (Todd) Loucks, and Six grandchildren, Six great grandchildren and 2 step grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He is predeceased by sons Russell and Larry, and a brother Ed Renwick.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday November 22, 2022 at 10:00AM, at the Bookhout Funeral Home, 357 Main Street, Oneonta, with Marti Swords-Horrell officiating. There will be no calling hours.
He will be buried in the Hartwick Seminary Cemetery, Cooperstown.
