She was born September 22, 1940 in Watertown, N.Y. the daughter of the late John Conrade Sr. and
Julia Oliver (Shirley). Shirley worked as an LPN for a period of time. Shirley spent a period of time living
in North Carolina working on a charter boat before returning to the Otsego County area in 1992.
Shirley enjoyed sewing, crocheting, baking, and playing online games. She had a wild passion for
dancing and loved to dance to the song “Wipe Out”. Shirley was a loving mother, grandmother, great
grandmother and a great friend too many people. Most of all, Shirley enjoyed her time with her loving
family.
She is survived by her son Frederick Neben (Sandy) of NC; her daughter Linda A. Wood (Rafael) of
Walton; her son Roger McRedmond (Kelly) of NC; and daughters Jacqueline McRedmond, FL and Lisa
Epler (Michael) of PA; her brother John Conrade of Oneonta; her sister Sandra Vadney (David) of
Laurens. Shirley is also survived by 7 loving grandchildren and 7 loving great grandchildren as well as
many nieces and nephews.
Shirley was predeceased by her sister Tina Oliver, loving grandson Benjamin David McRedmond and a
niece Christine Vadney-Crawley.
Friends may call the Bookhout Funeral Home, 357 Main Street, Oneonta, Friday March 8, 2019, from
11am to 12pm at which time the family will be in attendance.
The family will be hosting a memorial luncheon that will take place at The Church of Latter-day Saints on
107 Balmoral Drive in West Oneonta following the service at Bookhout Funeral Home. Donations and
contributions can be made to the family.
Burial will take place in the spring in Laurens Cemetery, Laurens.
