Employed by NY Tel in 1952 as a mechanic, Dick earned a degree in Public Relations from Syracuse University while he continued to work for the phone company. He changed roles several times throughout his career, retiring from AT&T in 1987 as a highly respected district regional manager. Following this 35-year career, he began a consulting business whose mission was to repatriate AT&T employees working overseas.
