Philomena M. Pecora

She was born in Oneonta on September 13, 1922, the daughter of John and Angelina (DeAngelo) Otello. She married Joseph F. Pecora on August 30, 1942, and he predeceased her on May 31, 1994.

For most of her life, Phil was a homemaker, but for a period of time she worked part time at JC Penney in Oneonta.

She was a member of St. Mary’s Church and it’s Rosary Society.

Phil lived in the 6th Ward of Oneonta all of her life, and proudly maintained close relationships with family and friends. She especially enjoyed gatherings that highlighted the importance of family unity.

She loved to crochet and took pleasure in passing on her works to family and friends.

She is survived by two children, John N. (Karyl) Pecora of Oneonta, and Regina (Leonard) Licht of Plano, TX; her three grandchildren, John V. (Mellisa) Pecora of Gansevoort, Joseph L. Pecora of Ft. Worth, TX and Eric Boschetti of Ft. Worth, TX; her great grandchildren, Hanna, Emily, Isabel, and Jonathan, as well as several nieces nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by her brothers and sisters, Ralph S. Otello, Anthony J. Otello, Joseph L. Otello, Louise Delberta, and Rose Otello

A funeral mass will be offered on Monday, January 21, 2013 at 10:15 AM in St. Mary’s Church with the Rev. David Mickiewicz, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Emmons.

Friends may call on Sunday from 2 to 4 PM at the Lester R. Grummons Funeral Home, 14 Grand St., Oneonta at which time the family will be in attendance.

Phil’s family would like to offer their gratitude to the staff at Chestnut Park for the loving care extended to her during her stay at the facility.
