Leroy Effner

LeRoy Effner, 62, of Delhi, NY, passed away peacefully in his home on June 3, 2024. He was born on August 16, 1962, in Oneonta, NY to the late Stephen and Mary Effner. He attended Delaware Academy. LeRoy loved his time on the farm as well as owning his own landscaping business.

In 1983, he met the love of his life, Sebrena Marie Smith. The two were married on September 21, 1985 at the West Kortright Church in Kortright, NY. LeRoy and Sebrena took great pride in raising their two sons, David and William. As a family, they enjoyed visiting with friends and family and camping.

LeRoy loved playing horseshoes where he was a member of the Andes Horseshoe Club. He enjoyed being outside where he enjoyed hunting, fishing, campfires, and camping. LeRoy especially enjoyed his time being around his family.

LeRoy is survived by his two sons, David Smith-Clinton, NY, and William Effner- Delhi, NY. His two grandsons, Carter and Brayden Smith. His sister, Michele Effner, and his nieces and nephew Stephen Scott, Courtney Doenges, Christin Doenges, Shakari and Cody Bradbury and Frank Coss.

LeRoy was predeceased by his loving wife, Sebrena Effner, of 29 years, and his mother and father, Steve and Mary Effner

His love for family and passion for the outdoor activities will forever be remembered by those lives he touched. Per LeRoy's request, there will be no calling hours or funeral. There will be a celebration of life on June 15, 2024 at 2pm at his home in Delhi, NY.
