Joyce "Gert" M Ploutz

She was born on June 10, 1933 in West Oneonta, the daughter of Russell and Hazel (Holbrook) Card.

Gert was employed many years as a food service worker for Hartwick College and SUNY Oneonta.

She enjoyed tending to her plants, shopping, playing cards, Yahtzee, and collected Elvis and cardinal memorabilia. She loved watching the Yankees play.

Gert is survived by her son David Clapper (Karen); daughter Jerilyn Orezzoli; stepchildren Richard Ploutz Jr (Cindy), Louis Ploutz (Brenda), Nancy Phinney, and Susan Santic (James); and many grandkids, great grandkids, and great great grandkids.

She was predeceased by her husband Richard Ploutz Sr; children Linda Shove, Terry M. Clapper, and Raymond R. Clapper; and stepchildren James Ploutz and Janet Ploutz.

Friends are invited to greet the family on Friday, December 22, 2023 from 5-7 pm at the Bookhout Funeral Home, 357 Main Street, Oneonta.

Gert will be laid to rest in the Spring in Cook Cemetery, West Oneonta.
