She was born March 22, 1926 in New Berlin the daughter of Chester Reid and Blanche (Padgett) Haight.
Hazel was an excellent baker who showed love with gifts of baked goods. Her specialties were apple pies, black pudding and pumpkin brownies.
She loved word games like Boggle and Scrabble. She was a wiz at crossword puzzles and did one almost every day. She seemed to have answers to just about all of the clues.
Hazel loved to sit and watch the birds and admire the flowers. She was a long time resident of Oneonta where she was a member of the Elm Park United Methodist Church. For the last two years, Hazel was a resident at the A.O. Fox Nursing Home where she was a favorite of many of the staff. However, home for her would always be her apartment at Country Club Road and the community there.
Hazel’s family would like to thank and acknowledge the dedicated staff at A.O. Fox Nursing Home for the care they provided.
Hazel is survived by her daughters, Linda Kotasek and her partner, Robert Reed of Marietta, GA and Becky Salisbury of Johns Creek, GA; brother, Donald Haight of Delhi; sister-in-law, Doreen Gregory of New Berlin; as well as several nieces and nephews.
