Susan Kay Elliott

Susan Kay Elliott, beloved mother to 2 children, Kelly Lynn Guzman (daughter) of Tacoma, Washington, and Kimberly Ann Wajda (daughter) of Bellevue, Nebraska, passed away in her sleep at the Good Shepherd Nursing home in Blair, Nebraska on 6 October 2024, leaving a void her family cannot fill.

She was born in Omaha, Nebraska in 1941 to Richard and Bette Gates, the first of 4 children. Susan attended Public Schools in the Omaha and Council Bluffs area before going to work at various jobs culminating in being a school bus driver and bus aide for the Omaha Public Schools for 22 years.

Susan was a devoted single mother to Kelly and Kimberly, her pride and joy. She was there during their graduations, marriages, divorces, and babies offering advice and love on every occasion.

Later in life she met and then married Jimmy Elliott on April 10, 1990. During their marriage, they enjoyed riding motorcycles, traveling the country together, and caring for their pets.

Susan was preceded in death by Jimmy Elliott (Husband), Richard Gates (Father), Bette Gates (Mother), Sally Donahue (Sister), Peggy Kroyer (Sister), Jerry Elliott (Bonus son), Ronnie Elliott (Bonus son), Ada Rodriguez-Ledesma (Bonus daughter) and is survived by Penny Kroupa (sister), Loyd Elliott (Brother-in-law), Kelly Guzman (daughter), Kimberly Wajda (daughter), Marybeth Elliott (Bonus daughter-in-law), 8 grandchildren, and 18 great grandchildren who will never forget the love she brought to their lives.

A visitation for Susan will be held Friday, October 11, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Westlawn-Hillcrest Funeral Home, 5701 Center St, Omaha, Nebraska 68106. A funeral service will occur Saturday, October 12, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Westlawn-Hillcrest Funeral Home.

Susan will be laid to rest in Westlawn-Hillcrest Memorial Park, 5701 Center Street, Omaha, Nebraska 68106.
