Marfay was born in Maryville, Missouri to Lumir E Svoboda and Irene Ida (Mundt) Svoboda on July 30, 1940. She married Robert Allen Wallace on October 2nd, 1960, in Crete, Nebraska. She graduated with honors from Omaha Metropolitan Community College in 1990. She was active at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church and had played organ at Zion Lutheran Church for many years.
Marfay is preceded in death by parents Lumir and Irene Svoboda and husband Robert.
Marfay is survived by children Gary A Wallace (Ann), Thomas E Wallace, Kenneth J Wallace (Tammy), and Mary E Reeves (Jeff). She is survived by siblings Marvin Svoboda, Bernard Svoboda (Deb), Berniece Prokop (Norman), and Roberta Luce (Ron). Marfay is survived by 6 grandchildren.
Visitation will be 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm, Friday, November 12th at Westlawn – Hillcrest Funeral Home, 5701 Center Street, Omaha NE. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 pm, Saturday, November 13th at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church with Pastor Jim Haack officiating. Burial will follow at Westlawn-Hillcrest Memorial Park also at 5701 Center Street Omaha NE. Arrangements are by Westlawn – Hillcrest Funeral Home.
