Husband, Brother, Father, Parrot Head, Fishman, UNO Hockey Fan, Sports Fan, Traveler, Friend
There was no one like Jon Martin. Passionate about sports, especially hockey, he first dated Lori at a Lancer’s game. Their love of music, concerts, sports, travel, family and friends is the story of their life together. Jon and Lori found being Parrot Heads a joy. They followed Jimmy Buffett, vacationing in Key West and other sunny locales. They “partied with a purpose” by volunteering, fundraising, and supporting numerous charities. When UNO Hockey kicked off, Jon and Lori were there setting up the tailgates, greeting folks, and creating a family of friends. Jon originated the fish toss at the UNO Hockey games, gaining the moniker, Fishman. Together they started the bead toss at the hockey games to celebrate their favorite holiday of Mardi Gras. Jon and Lori’s enjoyment and as connoisseurs of beers was renowned. Jon’s sense of humor and the appreciation of the absurd were well known and loved. He laughed, he yelled, maybe he yelled some more, and then laughed again.
