Glenn H. Koch

Preceded in death by parents, Frank, Ida, and Emma; sisters, Geri, and Shirley; and son, Brian.

Survived in death by loving wife, Lynn Koch; son, Steve and his wife Marlo; daughter-in-law, Esme; grandchildren, Tylor and his wife Jen, Raquel, Jacquline, Jessica, Arron and his fiance Caroline, Bradley and his fiance Sheena, Noah, Zepelin, Zoe, Raquel, Reggie, and Ralph; great-grandchildren, Tawnie, Ashley, Audrie, Alexander, Izabell, Lucas, Jaslynn, Joseph, Mckenzie, Brooklyn, Sarah, Jaxson, Rydan, Rylee, Hayden, Isaac, Eli; great-great-granddaughter, Kalayah; nieces, Shari and Suzy; and many other friends and family.

As seen above, Glenn was survived by many and will be remembered and missed by more. He was a wonderful man who was a graduate of Benson High School (1962) and received a Bachelor in Business Administration and Majoring in Accounting from the University of Omaha (UNO) in the early 70's which lead him to a career of 30 years in which he retired as a Accountant from Blue Cross and Blue Shield.

Like most people, Glenn had some fun and odd jobs like working at the Kool-Aid factory here in Omaha, and at Union Pacific during a summer in the repair facility. He enjoyed watching his sports and rooting for the underdogs. He was a Kansas City Royals, Nebraska Cornhuskers, and Oakland Raiders fan. Aside from sports, he was a church-going man and loved his congregation, in which he was part of the choir and sang his heart out. Glenn wasn't a huge gambler but still loved our family poker nights where he would bring a sock or coffee can of his pennies, nickels, and dimes and would somehow find the right time after doubling up to go home until we started making it a buy in so the rest of us had a chance to win some money.

As great, kind, and good man he was, he had a little rebel side. Back when Lincoln was a dry town, Glenn went to a convention which allowed you to bring your own liquor and the sodas to mix with it; he was walking back to his car and dropped and broke the bottle of booze he was tentatively going to drink on the ground after slipping on the curb. To say the least, I'm sure some choice words were uttered that day.

Glenn even found time in his busy schedule to be a helping hand for his son while in the Boy Scouts on the trips they took. To say the least, Glenn was a wonderful, loving man who loved being a Father, Husband, Grandfather and God-fearing man. He is truly one of a kind and has given us all large shoes to try to fill.

A visitation for Glenn will be held Thursday, August 17, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Westlawn-Hillcrest Funeral Home, 5701 Center St, Omaha, Nebraska 68106. A funeral service will occur Friday, August 18, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Luther Memorial Lutheran Church, 1031 Sunset Trail, Omaha, Nebraska 68132 (61st & Western). A private family burial will occur at Westlawn-Hillcrest Memorial Park, 5701 Center St, Omaha, Nebraska 68106.
