Nancy Faye Sandridge Jones, a loving wife, mom, grandmother, great grandmother, entrepreneur, and loyal friend peacefully passed away at home in Olive Branch MS on December 11, 2024 at the age of 78. She was born on December 8, 1946 in Memphis TN.
Nancy was actively involved in serving and leading Bethel Presbyterian Church, Olive Branch, before her recent illness. She was previously a member of Audubon Park Baptist Church, Memphis. Nancy directed the Olive Branch Farmers Market when it started back around 2015.
Nancy and her high school sweetheart, Barry, were married a month before she graduated from Messick High, Memphis, 1964. Their only son, Jeff, was born almost 10 months later.
Nancy started her own boutique florist shop, “Designed by Nancy” and helped Barry launch “OB Jones Construction” which later became “America General Construction”.
Nancy loved her family and friends. She enjoyed entertaining in her home or wherever she could help host a party. She always had some game or fun activity ready to put a smile, or grimace, on everyone’s face.
She was always ready for travel or a new adventure. The hummingbirds appreciated the food she made for them almost daily. Walking the beach, listening to Elvis, singing in the choir, and caring for Missy and Molly were some of her favorite things.
Nancy was a dedicated volunteer with the Briarcrest PTA. She enjoyed gardening and fishing, especially the wives tournaments of the (Parkway) Village Bassmasters, as well as the time spent with her Bunco girls.
Nancy is survived by her son, Jeff Jones (Dori) of Olive Branch; two granddaughters, Emily Williamson (Joshua) of Tuscaloosa AL and Amy Guthrie (David) of Holly Springs MS; two great granddaughters - Oaklyn and Anna; two very special nieces - Kim Jacobus and Jessica McCollum and their families; along with other nieces, nephews, a host of cousins, and numerous friends.
Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, Barry; her parents, Johnnie Franklin and Verna Lee Kuntz Sandridge; and her sister, Marie Burton.
A celebration of her life will be 11:00 am, January 18, 2025, at Brantley Funeral Home, Olive Branch MS. Visitation with family will begin at 10:00 am. Burial will be a private family service at another time. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Bethel Presbyterian Church 3810 Bethel Rd, Olive Branch MS, 38654.
