Myrtle Maxine Taylor

Myrtle Maxine Taylor, 84, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 22, 2021 at her residence in Independence, MS. She was born to the Late Samuel Wesson and Vera Agnes Darnell in Independence, MS. Maxine was a hard and dedicated worker. She enjoyed working in her yard and spending time with her grandchildren. Maxine was a member of New Garden Baptist Church where she faithfully served the Lord. She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Vera Darnell; her son in law, Billy Sigler, and her grandson, Jimmy Dale Sigler. Maxine is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Russell Franklin Taylor; three children, Kay Sigler, Dale Taylor (Betty), Curtis Taylor (Beth); a sister, Helen Smart (Derrel), and three brothers, Buddy Darnell (Sadie), Mack Darnell (Vickie), and James Ray Darnell. She also leaves behind three grandchildren, Leslie Taylor, Stephanie Red (Jacob), Wyatt Austin Taylor, and three great grandsons, Logan, Ethan, and Dylan. In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial contributions be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hosptial, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105. A Funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 27, 2021 at 12:00 pm with visitation beginning at 9:00 am at New Hope Baptist Church, 1290 New Hope Rd. Coldwater, MS 38618. Burial will follow at New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery.
