Leon Sherard

Leon Sherard, 90, of Olive Branch, MS went to be with the Lord on April 1, 2024. Leon was born on November 15, 1933 in Alcorn Co., MS to the late Benjamin Franklin Sherard and Ethel Mae McElhannon. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters: Hilda Brawner, Agnes Glisson, and Betty Rhodes; and his brothers, Gilbert Sherard and Alton Sherard. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Anita Sherard; son, David Leon Sherard (Agnes); son, Danny Wade Sherard (Gayle); daughter, Donna Porter; son, Doug Sherard (Donna); grandchildren: Amanda Daugherty (David), Benjamin Sherard (Stephanie), Elizabeth Sherard, Hunter Porter (Stephani), and Nathan Porter; great-grandchildren: Lucas Sherard, Katelyn Sherard, Lukas Porter, Emma Porter, and Beau Porter; and a sister, Ann Allen. Leon was a hardworking man and worked with Campbell 66 Truckline for 26 years. He was a believer in Jesus Christ and a member of Shiloh Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Kossuth, MS. He was a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason and a member of the Horn Lake Lodge. He loved his family dearly and enjoyed spending time with them. A graveside service will be held at Forest Hill South Cemetery on Monday, April 15, 2024 at 3:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in his honor.
