Deborah Annette Murphree

Deborah Annette Gross Murphree, born February 17, 1954, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 23, 2023 surrounded by her family. While she had many job titles through the years, her favorite role was as a mom and Mimi. Deborah loved the color purple, hummingbirds, Jesus and her family. She is preceded in death by her parents, Jackie and Dorothy Gross; brothers, Wayne Gross, Dennis Gross, Luther Gross; sisters, Corrine Lloyd, Maria White, Lisa Lentz; grandson, Matthew Howe; stepson, Tracy Murphree; step granddaughter, Kayla Murphree Black. Deborah leaves behind her husband, Tommy Murphree; daughters, Mandy Howe (Linn), Tonya Murphree (Chad), Dana Sookraj (Carl); step sons, Todd Murphree and Jonathan Murphree; sisters; Janice Houston (Larry) and Kay Whaley (Jeff); a brother, Thomas Gross (Debbie); sister in laws: Cathy O’Brannon (Mike), Cathy Gross, Wanda Gross, and Hazel Gross Nelson. She also leaves behind seven grandchildren: Shelby Howe, Leea Daniel, Jeremiah Sookraj (Madison), Beau Daniel, Emma Sookraj, AJ Sookraj, and Charles Edward Lane; five step grandchildren: Dustin Murphree, Shane Murphree (Michelle), Chelsea Murphree (Chris), Joe Murphree, Lilly Murphree, and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends that she loved dearly. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 30, 2023 at 2:00 pm with visitation beginning at 1:00 pm at Brantley Funeral Home, 6875 Cockrum St. Olive Branch, MS 38654.
