James W. Reed Jr.

Milford - James William Reed Jr. passed away unexpectedly at his home in Milford on Thursday, March 16, 2023. He was born in Bangor, Maine on August 10, 1949, the son of James Sr. and Annie (Watson) Reed.

Jim served in the Army following high school. He spent his career working for Old Town Canoe as a canoe maker later on in life. When he wasn’t working he enjoyed spending his time hunting and fishing with his longtime friend, Ben Young of Bradford and playing games of cribbage with family.

Jim was a dedicated husband to Annette Reed, his wife of 44 years until her passing March 17, 2019. He was also predeceased by his father, James William Reed Sr. and his mother, Annie Reed.

He was a loving father to Christopher Reed of Milford, Andrea Appleton her husband Kevin of Florida, Andrew Reed and his partner Quang of Florida and his daughter in law Jen Reed of Old Town, three beautiful grandsons, Brandon Appleton of Illinois, Ryan Appleton of Pennsylvania and Nicholas Reed of Old Town; his sister, Jacqueline Whitmore of Old Town; brothers, Mark Reed his wife Nancy of Milford and Billy Reed and his wife Deanna of Clifton.

Per his wishes, James requested no formal services.
