Hazel was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She especially loved spending time with her great grandchildren. In her younger years, Hazel enjoyed working with the public, spending almost 14 years working for the Curtainshop in Bangor. She loved to read, crochet, watch old movies on Turner Classic Movies and color in her adult coloring books. Recently, she attended My Friend's Place, where she made many friends. Hazel also found a great companion in her cat, Smokey.
In addition to her parents, Hazel was predeceased by her first husband, Tom Chaisson, Sr.; second husband, Stanley Johnson; grandson, Michael Robshaw; great grandson, Michael Anthony; and her siblings, Linwood, Jr. and Roberta. Hazel is survived by her daughter, Sherry Auger and husband, Rick; son, Tom Chaisson, Jr. and wife, Gail; grandchildren, Brandy Harding and husband, Charles, and Austin Robshaw; great grandchildren, Joseph, Samantha, and Wyatt Harding, Austin, Jr. Madison, and Liam Robshaw; step grandchildren, Richie, Amy, Josh and Tanner; half sisters, Rita Levasseur, Cora Paradis, and Peggy Languette; brothers, Retire Rand and Llewellyn "Sonny" Rand; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to call 8:30-9:30 at Birmingham Funeral Home, 438 Main Street, Old Town. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated, 10 a.m., Saturday, October 15, 2016, at Resurrection of the Lord, Holy Family Parish, 429 Main Street, Old Town. The Prayers of Committal will be prayed at St. Joseph's Cemetery, with reception to follow at Holy Family Parish, where the family invites those who wish to remember Hazel in a special way, to bring a covered dish to share.
