She graduated from John Bapst High school in 1960 and Mercy Nursing School in 1963. She worked as an operating room nurse at St. Joseph's Hospital, then Eastern Maine Hospital. She left the working sector but was a care giver all her life, raising her son, Rick, then caring for her husband, Richard, after he was disabled, and her mother after her father passed away.
Faith was an enthusiastic sports fan, especially enjoying the Red Sox, Patriots, Celtics and her grandchildren's events whenever she could. She enjoyed and was a regular at Sunday Beano in Orono at the American Legion. In the past few years she always looked forward to taking the trip to Florida to visit her brother and sisters-in-law.
She would give her caring to friends and neighbors as they were going through their own hard times. Her neighbors were generous in return with their support and help through the years, which the family greatly appreciates beyond words.
She is survived by her son, Richard Phillip "Rick" Delaney II, his wife, Sarah, and three grandchildren, Amber, Rylee, and Drew, all of Livermore; brother, Virgil LeBlanc, and his wife, Janet, of Summerfield, FL; sisters-in-law, Theoline LeBlanc of Orono and Sherry LeBlanc of Gardiner, several cousins, nephews and a niece.
She was predeceased by her parents, husband, Richard P. Delaney, brothers, Rudolph and Michael and niece, Michelle LeBlanc.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 10 at St. John's Catholic Church, 207 York St., Bangor. Burial will be at St. Josephs Cemetery, Old Town.
The family would like to thank Dr. Andreescu and staff of the Laffyette Family Cancer Center and Dr. Erickson of the Central Maine Comprehensive Cancer Center for their caring and hard work over the years.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Old Town Animal Orphanage, 71 Airport Rd., Old Town, ME 04468, or the Laffyette Family Cancer Center, 33 Whiting Hill Rd., Brewer, ME 04412.
