Dustin was born on December 9, 1989. He attended Old Town High School and Welding School at Beal College. He is the beloved son of John Bear Mitchell and the father of Aaliyah Elizabeth Mitchell. Dustin loved his family above all else. He and his father were the best of friends, and he was a loving and devoted father to his daughter. He loved spending time with his family and friends and will be remembered by all for his never-ending sense of humor and his quick smile. Dustin also enjoyed being outdoors, hiking, biking, and countless other physical activities. He really enjoyed working and worked hard at whatever he did.
Dustin is survived by his father, John Bear Mitchell; his daughter Aaliyah Elizabeth Mitchell; his brothers Mike LaPlante, Cody Corson, and Jacob Corson; his grandmother Marie Mitchell; very special friend and mother of his daughter, Taylor Niles; his uncles Chris King and Mitchell King, and his aunt Christa Rolph; close friends Kyle Cleary and Brandon Deans; many other Mitchell Clan aunts, uncles, and cousins, especially Ana Rapp, Marcus King, and Taylor Littlefield with whom he shared a special closeness. He is predeceased by his great-grandparents Theodore and Eleanor Mitchell; Uncles Howard Mitchell and Kevin Cleary; Aunt Sandra Broschard; and cousin Sage N. Rapp.
Dustin's life ended tragically, due to a series of poor personal choices made by him and those around him. His death could have been avoided, which makes his passing all the more sorrowful for all those who loved him. He will be greatly missed.
Family and friends are invited to join us in a celebration of his life on Saturday, September 30, 2017 at 1 p.m. at 66 Dartmouth Street, Old Town, Maine. Please note that there will be no drugs or alcohol allowed.
