Betty Jean Roy of Argyle Township, Maine passed away peacefully at her home on November 10, 2022 at the age of 78. She was born in Old Town, Maine on December 3, 1943 to Clarence St. Louis Sr. and Alma St. Louis - Dick.
Betty went to school in Old Town and worked at Kagan Lown Shoe Shop. Then she became a wonderful, hardworking, stay-at-home mom and wife raising 3 teenage boys and a loving husband. She kept an immaculate house and took great pride in her houseplants. Betty loved to sit in her screen house or by the fire pit on warm summer nights and watch for the International Space Station to fly by overhead. She loved watching the wildlife that often visited the yard. Betty loved to crochet hats for the homeless and NICU babies, going to BINGO on Sunday's, playing word games and coloring on her ipad, shopping online and spending time with the people she loved.
Betty was a true friend and will be missed by many. Her laughter and sense of humor were infectious and will be missed by all.
She was predeceased by her husband, Paul Roy Sr., her son, Terry Ellingwood, her daughter, Brenda Ellingwood and her sister, Gloria Hanson.
She is survived by her son, Troy Ellingwood, her sisters, Thelma Howe and Irene Burton and a brother, Clarence St. Louis Jr.
She had many grandchildren but Jayda was the one she was closest to. They shared a unique bond that many could only hope for. Betty also had many nieces, nephews and friends that she loved dearly.
Some very special people in her life were Irene Burton, Sam D'Angelo and Karen McLaughlin.
Betty loved babysitting when she was able to and was very attached to Sam D'Angelo, Fara (D'Angelo) Dutton and Alexis Leclair.
