OLD TOWN--Barbara C Dionne passed away at home April 6, 2022, with her daughters by her side after many failing health issues. She was born September 11, 1946, in Bangor, the daughter of Henry and Anne Sevigny.
She attended Old Town schools until she married the love of her life Daniel Dionne November 8, 1953, and settled in Old Town and celebrated 56 years of marriage, raising three daughters and working at the many area shoe shops.
Barbara was very loyal to her catholic faith. She spent countless hours making rosary beads, and could often be seen helping out at funeral lunches at the church. She loved to cook and was very good at it. She was a member of the Ostomy Association, and a member of the M S society. Barb was a generous person by nature and donated to many charitable organizations thoughtlessly, even when times were difficult for her and her family. She would always put family, friends, and other people first.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Daniel; a daughter Corinne; brother Bob Sevigny; brother Bill Marquis; son-in-law Scott King and son-in-law Louis Doucette Jr.
She is survived by a daughter Crystal Gastia and her husband Kevin; daughter Carin and partner Joe Leclair; a brother Mike Sevigny and his wife Sandy; grandchildren Brad King, Ashley Loring, Christy Rand, Colby and Tori Doucette, Brandon, Daniel and Mckayla Gastia; great grandchildren; brother-in-law Bob Dionne and wife Orilla; brother in-law Roger Dionne and his wife Dottie; brother-in-law Reggie Dionne; brother-in-law Ricky Dionne and his wife Alisha; sister-in-law Sharon Freeman and her husband Clive; many nieces and nephews; special friends Delores Simon, Barbara Dupuis, and Ronnie and Nita Frazier.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10am Monday April 11, 2022 at Parish of the Resurrection of the Lord, Holy Family Church, 429 Main St, Old Town. Immediately following the mass, all are invited to the parish hall for a light luncheon and continued fellowship.
Graveside services at Milford Cemetery will be conducted 11:30AM Saturday May 14, 2022.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics, 525 Main St. Unit D, South Portland, Maine, 04106.
