Mary Frances Olean Parkington, 89, wife of Allan F. Parkington for nearly 70 years, passed away on April 24, 2016, with her family by her side in Old Saybrook, Connecticut. Mary was born on August 27, 1926 in Norwalk, Connecticut to the late William and Marguerite Olean of East Norwalk, Connecticut. She graduated from Norwalk High School in 1944, and then went on to receive her certificate as an LPN, while raising her five children. Along with her husband, she is survived by her children: Susie Dinnen and her husband Jerry of Bethel, Mary Jane Parkington of Springfield, Virginia, William Parkington of Old Saybrook, and Michael Parkington and his wife Pamela of East Norwalk. She leaves behind five grandchildren: Lisa Boulais and her husband Daniel of League City, Texas, Kimberly Jankiewicz and her husband Chris of Westbrook, Christopher Parkington and his wife Victoria of Killingworth, Patricia Newman and her husband Rick of Jacksonville, Florida, and Jennifer Dickens of Springfield, Virginia; and her six great-grandchildren: Christopher and Katherine Boulais, William Jankiewicz, Tyler, Rylan, and Abigail Newman. Mary is predeceased by her oldest daughter, Patricia Parkington. Mary’s family would like to express their deep gratitude to the staff of Apple Rehab of Old Saybrook for their wonderful care and compassion. A Private graveside services was held at Riverside Cemetery in Old Saybrook, Connecticut.
