He was born on August 2, 1949, in New Britain, the son of George K. Hills, Sr., and Winifred Fodt Hills.
Martin retired four years ago, after being employed for 41 years with the Town of Old Saybrook.
He graduated from Old Saybrook High School in 1969. He was a Vietnam War Veteran, serving with the US Army 101st Airborne from 1970-71. He was a Past Commander and very active member of the American Legion. He was a member for 20 plus years. Martin was very passionate about helping people and the Town of Old Saybrook. He would volunteer his time planting flowers at the fire house POW Memorial and placing flags on veteran's graves.
Martin is survived by his two sons, Martin Hills and his wife Chantal, and David Hills and his partner Kristen; his four grandchildren Joshua, Caleb, Maisen, and Jaidyn; his sister Winifred Ciezynski; brother George K. Hills, Jr., and his wife Phyllis; nieces and nephews, Laurie, Wendy, and Ron Ciezynski, Jr., Shari, Garrison, George III, and Sean Hills.
