Karen Ellen Ratchford

Karen was born on November 15, 1954 in Portland, Maine. She was the daughter of William and Jean Edes. The family moved to Framingham, Massachusetts where Karen spent her school years, meeting and eventually marrying her high school sweetheart, Tim in 1977.

After many moves and transfers, Karen’s delayed dream was finally realized in 1984 when she graduated first in her class from nursing school. Karen’s love of nursing was surpassed only by her role as “Mother.” She never missed a game or a gig during Kelly’s basketball years and Tim’s years as a drummer, she was their biggest fan. Kelly remembers that her mother’s laugh was infectious and she told jokes and stories better than anyone. Her ability to find humor in every situation is a trait that her family and loved ones will always remember.

Karen is survived by her husband Timothy; children Timothy Ratchford (Jess) of Manchester, CT, Kelly Wilson (Tyler) of San Antonio, TX. grandchildren Jackson and Kennedy Wilson with Addison Ratchford on the way, sisters Julie Latham-Brown and Susan Waldron both of Massachusetts.

Karen was predeceased by her daughter Chelsea Jean.
