Charles Willis McCallum

Charles was born June 10, 1942 in Robeson County, Maxton, North Carolina to the late Ophelia (Snipes) McCallum and Edward McCallum. He was the younger of two children; his sister Betty L. McDaniel preceded him in death. Charles graduated R.R. Dean School in Maxton, North Carolina. And later attended Northern Virginia Community College, Va. Charles was also a member and Church DAD of Albert Street Baptist Church in Alexandria, VA.

Charles resided in the Tri-State area of D.C., Maryland and Virginia for more than 35 years, settling in the city of Arlington, VA. He worked for XA Systems, LLC. Since 2012 as Program Admin Specialist.

Charles enjoyed tools, electronics and gadgets, good music and creating CDs, taking pictures, reading and learning. He especially enjoyed networking and meeting new people. He had a special and loving enjoyment spending time with his daughters, and his grandsons, as well as his nieces and nephews and their children.

Those surviving, and left to cherish his memory are his Daughters Teresa A. Bailen, and Jaleesa A. McCallum, his Step-son Jonte Ross, and his beloved Grandsons whom he loved dearly, Ricky Bailen and Ryan Bailen. As well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles, friends and loved ones.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, July 29, 2017 at 2:00pm in Swan Funeral Home, 1224 Boston Post Rd., Old Saybrook, CT.
