Tammy was born on April 13, 1962 in New London, the daughter of Raymond Leclair and Sally (Comstock) Leclair.
Tammy was a devoted mother, passionate partner, and loyal friend to many. Her heart of gold and boundless compassion touched the lives of all who knew her. She dedicated her career at The Arc, working to protect the rights of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. A talented jeweler, she found solace on her front step, creating works of art that brought joy to family, friends, and countless others at craft fairs across the state. Tammy’s overflowing compassion embraced not only people but even stray cats and ailing squirrels, nurturing the world around her with an unwavering love. Her legacy lives on through her love, imagination and vibrant spirit in the hearts of those fortunate enough to have known her.
Tammy is survived by her life partner Timothy Bates, daughters Alicia Sapere and Marcia Sapere, her son Cameron Leclair, her mother Salley Leclair, sisters Tracy Naumowitz, Terry Bellucci, Toni Leclair, Tricia Swaney, as well as many nieces and nephews.
A calling hours for Tammy will be held Monday, July 31, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Fulton-Theroux Funeral Service, 13 Beckwith Ln, Old Lyme, CT. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, August 1, 2023 a 10:30 in St. Ann Episcopal Church, 82 Shore Rd, Old Lyme, CT. Interment will follow in Duck River Cemetery
