Peter Leonard Smith

Mr. Smith was born on November 12, 1947 in New London the son of Leonard (Pete) and Jessie (Finnegan) Smith. He graduated from Old Lyme High School in 1965. He honorably served our country for 12 years in the US Navy. He married Dorothie (Stands) on May 12, 1978.

He retired from Millstone Nuclear Power Plant after 25 years as an instrumentation supervisor. He also served as chairman of the Old Lyme wetlands commission for several years.

Mr. Smith is survived by his loving wife, his daughter Meghan Smith of Niantic and son Zachary Smith of Boston Massachusetts and precious grandchild Lyric Rodgers, also of Niantic. Mr. Smith is predeceased by his parents, and both brother and sister, John Smith and Jane Smith-Dell.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 26, 2016 at 1:00pm in First Congregational Church of Old Lyme. Fulton-Theroux Funeral Home, Old Lyme is handling the arrangements.
