He was born on September 30, 1919, in Plainfield, NJ, the son of Alexander and Julia (Brack) Bocian, but spent most of his childhood on the family horse farm, outside of Warsaw, Poland. Because of his American citizenship, he was able to leave Poland just prior to the beginning of World War II. He returned to New Jersey, where he later married Irene Zach, the mother of his three children. She predeceased him in 1973. After his retirement, he moved to Connecticut in 1980 and lived in the Old Lyme area. He enjoyed life on the Connecticut shoreline and spent many happy times throughout the years enjoying his hobby of fresh and salt water fishing.
He is survived by his three children, Frank J. Bocian, Jr. of Lyme, Richard Bocian of Berkeley Heights, NJ, and Michele Bocian Wind of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL., five grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
