Anna Mary (Ann Marie) Griffith passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 27th, 2023, at Bride Brook Rehab Center in Niantic, CT. She was born on January 26th, 1936, in Derby, CT, to Joseph and Consetta Cannata.
Ann was the proud owner of the Lymelight Restaurant, a true family place and staple for the Old Lyme community. After the restaurant closed, she served as the head chef at Old Lyme Center School where she was beloved by the students and teachers for her witty humor and feisty attitude. Ann continued to spread her love and laughter as a volunteer and board member at the Old Lyme Senior Center.
Ann was a kind spirit and welcomed anyone who walked through her door. Her home was always open to friends and strangers alike. Those who knew and loved her enjoyed her spicy sense of humor. She loved to spend time with her family at Rogers Lake and go on lunch trips to the local establishments with her friends from the Old Lyme Senior Center.
She was preceded in death by her son, Richard Fazzino, and her sister, Angelina Mattes. She is survived by her loving family; her son, Phillip Fazzino III and Debra; her daughter, Holly Coley and Chris; her son, Peter Signore; her grandsons, Philip, Nick, Bobby, Trevor, and Patrick; great-granddaughter Nora; best friend, Judy Dutton; her niece Barb McNamara and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
The family will be hosting a private celebration of life at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to A Chance for Love Rescue (www.achanceforlove.org).
