Shirley Anne McKee

Shirley Hackney Mckee, 83 passed away peacefully May 29 at her home surrounded by her children. She was born June 26, 1936 in Old Hickory Tennessee. She was preceded in death by her husband Howard E. Mckee (Gene), her parents Roy P. Hackney Sr and Beulah Edge Hackney, her sisters Mildred Webb and Hazel Stewart.

Shirley was a resident of Gray, Georgia since 1986. She was a member of Gray United Methodist Church for over 20 years and was very active in many activities. She enjoyed cooking for church functions and loved her “Lunch Bunch” outings and her friends in Red Hats and Women in Mission. Mrs. Mckee is survived by her daughters Terry McDuffie (John), Lorie Gawley (Rich) and her son Sam Mckee (Amy), Eleven grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren. She also is survived by two sisters Dorothy Waters, and Katherine Stanton and a brother Roy P. Hackney Jr.

She will be laid to rest at her final home at Hermitage Memorial Gardens, Old Hickory, Tennessee on 6-2-20. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations in her honor to Heartland Hospice, Macon Georgia or Gray United Methodist Church, Gray Georgia. Services will be streamed live on Hermitage Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens Facebook Page.
