Lawrence Robert Ramsey Jr.

Lawrence Robert Ramsey Jr., age 87, of Old Hickory, Tennessee passed away on Sunday, January 30, 2022. Lawrence was born November 12, 1934 in Nashville to his parents Lawrence Robert Sr and Lillie Mae McEwen Ramsey who predecease him.

He was married to the love of his life, Almedia Jane Ramsey, on December 24, 1952, and were married for almost 65 wonderful years when she went to be with the Lord on April 28, 2017. He worked as a manager in the grocery business. He was a member of Old Hickory Church of Christ. He was a sports enthusiast cheering on the UT Vols, the Tennessee Titans and the Pittsburgh Steelers. He and Almedia loved to travel to the beach taking the family on many vacations there. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him.

He is survived by three children, Eugene Ramsey and his wife, Cheryl, Jerry Ramsey and his wife, Brenda, and Loura J. and her husband, Robby Newby; eight grandchildren, Roxanne Ramsey and her spouse, Susan G. Ramsey, Rachel Gullett and her husband, Patrick, Joshua Rainwater, Erika Green and her husband, Michael, Megan Ramsey, Ryan M. Newby and his wife, Megan, and T.A. Newby & Rachel; nine great grandchildren, Lily Jane Gullett, Aria Violet Gullett, Radnor Patrick Gullett, Serenity Rainwater, Lukas Green, Jascy Green, Shaun Newby, Colin Newby, James Newby and Owen Newby; and several other relatives and friends.

There will be a Gathering of Family and Friends for Lawrence on Wednesday, February 2, 2022 from 1pm until 7pm and on Thursday, February 3, 2022 from 11am until 12pm at Hermitage Funeral Home followed by a Celebration of Life which will begin at 12pm in the Tulip Grove Room at the funeral home with Bro. Don Loftis officiating. Interment will follow immediately in the Garden of the Cross at Hermitage Memorial Gardens.
