Judy Lynn Bell, 74, of Old Hickory, TN, (previously Bancroft, WV.), passed away Tuesday May 7, 2024. Judy was born June 25, 1948, in Chelyan, West Virginia to Roy and Evelyn Lawson. Judy grew up in Cabin Creek, West Virginia and moved to Mt Hope West Virginia as a teenager, graduating from Mt. Hope High School. Judy married her high school sweetheart, Charles Gayla Bell on October 26, 1968, and together they were married 55 years.
Judy enjoyed being with her family. She especially enjoyed her two granddaughters, watching their dance routines and attending their many recitals. Judy enjoyed working her crossword puzzles, reading, watching games shows and playing board games with her daughter and grandchildren. Judy was a member of the Elizabeth Baptist Church in Bancroft, West Virginia where she was involved in the Elizabeth Baptist Church Ladies Meeting. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Evelyn Lawson, siblings, Roy Lawson Jr, Lillian Lowe, Jackie Blocker, Jimmy Lawson and Glen Lawson.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 55 years, Charles Gayla Bell, (from Red Star, WV), a daughter Mindy (Bell) Conger and the “Sunshine of Her Life” granddaughters Audrey and Ally Conger. Brother, John (Carole) Lawson, sisters, Nancy Pomeroy and Margaret Henderson. Also surviving are many brother and sister in laws, nieces and nephews that she loved very much.
Graveside services will be held at the Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens and Mausoleum in Prosperity, West Virginia on Saturday June 15, 2024 at 1:00PM.
