Joyce was born in 1939 to Guy and Blanche (Strator) Jackson and grew up in Hermitage. She graduated from Donelson High School in 1958. She was a homemaker while her children were growing up and worked for herself in her own curtain shop in Mt Juliet before retiring.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Guy and Blanche Jackson; son, Dennis Dukes; siblings, Dorothy Crimi, Louise Withers, Shirley Waynick, Bobby Jackson, Billy Jackson, and Tommy Jackson.
She is survived by sisters, Mildred Armstrong, Jean Highfill, and Linda Marlin; brother, Don Jackson; daughter, Kristi (Marty) Penton; daughter in law, Vicki Dukes; four grandchildren: Benjamin Dukes, Callyn (Michael) Cornell, Sophia (Kyle) Condon, and Quinn Dukes; three great-grandchildren: Olivia Cornell, Virginia Cornell, and Enolia Cornell; and a host of beloved nieces and nephews.
She enjoyed gardening, floral arranging, and decorating. She loved spending time with her siblings, especially dining out, shopping, and traveling.
Visitation with the family will be held on Thursday, April 4th between 1pm and 2:30pm and will be honored at a Celebration of Life following visitation at 2:30pm at Hermitage Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens at 535 Shute Lane, Old Hickory, TN 37138.
