Jo Ann (Mack) Fuqua, age 80, went to be with the Lord on Friday, July 6, at McKendree Village in Hermitage, TN. Dedicated mother to Jeff and his wife Betsy of Franklin, TN and Jackie and her husband John Lee of Mt. Juliet, TN. Proud grandmother of Bailey and Davis. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Bill Fuqua and her parents Frank and Allie Mack.
Jo Ann was born in Fulton, KY in 1938 and raised in Chicago, IL. She was married to Bill on June 24, 1961 in Nashville. She loved raising her family and would find ways to be as involved in her children’s lives as possible whether it be a Den Mother in Cub Scouts, a room mother at school or as a Sunday School teacher. She took pride in being a Nana and all the joys that came with it.
Jo Ann had a passion for God’s creations as she loved the outdoors and animals. She enjoyed gardening, birdwatching, fishing, traveling and camping. One of her favorite hobbies was scrapbooking and keeping up with distant family and friends through Facebook. She was an amazing cook and a fan of the Tennessee Titans. She was a dedicated member of Donelson First Baptist Church.
Friends will be received at the Hermitage Funeral and Memorial Gardens on Wednesday, July 11, from 6-8 p.m. A service to celebrate her life will be on Thursday, July 12 at 2 p.m. with visitation beginning at 1 p.m. Memorial donations can be directed to Donelson First Baptist Church or the Alzheimer’s Association.
