James Patrick Brice Jr, born on July 29th, 1929, peacefully departed this world on November 18th, 2023. For 68 years, he shared a deep bond with his wife and together they raised 3 children. He is survived by his spouse, Janet Ann (Keller), son Ronald Patrick (daughter-in-law Genice) daughter Nancy Ann (son-in-law Terrence VanNuck, deceased), son David Richard and his brother Gerald Douglas (sister-in-law Maureen). He was the loving grandfather of 8 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He’s preceded in death by his mother, Mildred Elizabeth (Pfromm), father James Patrick Sr and brother Richard Charles (sister-in-law Betsy).
He enlisted in the U.S. Navy at the age of 17 years old, was employed at the Automobile Club of Michigan for 35 years and served as a reserve police officer for the city of Eastpointe Michigan for many of these same years. He had a love for all sports, especially softball as he played as a great pitcher until the age of 79. He was the most honorable man, a man with the highest integrity. His legacy is one of love, commitment, and service. Today and always, we miss him, honor and remember his impactful life.
There will be a graveside service with military honors on Friday December 8, 2023, at 1:00 pm at Nashville National Cemetery, 1420 Gallatin Pike S, Madison, TN 37115.
