Hoyte attended and graduated from Mount Juliet High School. Upon graduation, he embarked on a career as a heavy equipment operator. Being a kind and loving man, he gave up his home and career for many years to care for his ailing parents. When his mother needed dialysis, Hoyte went to the extent of becoming educated in this treatment so he could administer the care for his mother. After his mother passed, he continued to be a devoted son to his father and cared for him during the last years of his father’s life.
Hoyte enjoyed riding his bike (motorcycle) all over the country. He was a free spirit and kind to all. Though quiet and private by nature, he lived every day of his life with either the mindset or verbal expression of “I am so blessed.” He loved well, was well-loved, and will be sorely missed.
Hoyte is predeceased by his father, Hoyte Roscoe Black, Sr.; and his mother, Dorothy Marie Black. He is survived by his daughter, Harper Black; his fiancé, Susane Wedler; his brother James “Jimmy” Black; his sister, Shirley Black; his sister, Mary J. Williams; his sister, Sandra Watson; his sister, Wendy Lassiter; his brother, Harry Black; and extended and loving family members.
There will be a Gathering of Family & Friends on Friday, May 5, from 12pm – 2pm at Hermitage Funeral Home.
