Bettye and her husband of 60 years, Frederick L. Baker, Jr. lived in Hermitage, Tennessee where they raised their three children, Roxann Baker Mathis (Randy), Michael L. Baker (Christopher), and Anthony D. Baker.
Bettye and Fred were blessed to have three granddaughters, April Smart (Kevin), Julie Waters (Gifford), and Heather McClarty (Ryan) and two great-granddaughters, Skylar and Maggie with another on the way.
Bettye was preceded in death by her parents Max and Bonnie Anderson and her brother Norman (Mildred) Anderson.
Bettye was devoted to her work as a special-needs teaching assistant and was involved in the special needs community her entire life.
She was a captain of her special needs bowling team for 30 years. She was a loving person who thoroughly enjoyed being with her family and friends. She loved meeting new people. We will miss her greatly.
A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held Monday, June 10 from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. and Tuesday, June 11 from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. at Hermitage Funeral Home.
A Celebration of Life will be held Tuesday, June 11 at 11:00 a.m. with Steve Chadwell, nephew and Heather McClarty, Granddaughter, speaking.
Committal Services will be held following Celebration of Life at Hermitage Memorial Gardens, with Randall Mathis, Kevin Smart and Ryan McClarty serving as pallbearers.
