Anna Mae Johnson

Anna Mae Johnson, “Granny Anna”, passed away Friday August 18, 2023. Anna was born in Loudon, TN on January 18, 1942 to Clarence and Sally Holder. Ann spent most of her youth growing up in Loudon where she graduated from the local high school. Anna went on to Belmont University where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree.

Anna soon moved to Arlington Texas and the Fort Worth area where she lived for 14 years. Returning to Nashville she held several management position with restaurants, such as Old Hickory, General Jackson and later worked in the payroll department at Opryland where she retired.

Anna truly enjoyed sports especially watching UT women’s hoops, tennis, and the Texas Rangers. She also enjoyed travel, often to visit family and friends. Anna was a great host and a wonderful cook. She could put her finger in a bowl of flour and make the best cakes. She could bake anything perfectly. She loved her grandsons and enjoyed spending time with them.

Anna was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Sally Holder, a son Michael Johnson and a daughter Lisa Johnson.

Anna is survived by her daughter, Jamie Border, grandsons: Kelly Thomason, Marquis Willian and Zachary Johnson and a granddaughter Meagan Border.

Anna will be laid to rest in Sweetwater, TN next to her parents at a future date.
