Rose Marie Abate

Rose M. (Azzarello) Abate, 88, passed away on Thursday, September 19, 2013. Born and raised in Jersey City, Rose moved to Old Bridge in 1985. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, word searches, lottery, scratch offs, Atlantic City, and slot machines. Rose was predeceased by her husband, Carmine Abate; her son in law, Dennis Mongon; and her siblings: Joseph, Lena, Angelo, Sam, Anna, Harry, Geraldine, & Millie. She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Mongon; her daughter, Michele Abate; her son, Michael Abate; her granddaughter and husband, Marisa & Robert Bruder; her grandson, Edward Mongon; her great granddaughter, Carly Rose Bruder; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 22, 2013 from 2-4 & 7-9pm at the Michael Hegarty Funeral Home, 3377 Rt. 9, Old Bridge, NJ 08857. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, September 23, at 10:30am at Holy Rosary Church, 344 6th Street, Jersey City, NJ 07302. Interment will follow to Holy Name Cemetery, Jersey City.
