Anthony Argento 82, of Old Bridge Entered into Eternal Rest on Tuesday, August 25, 2015. Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY to the late Furo and Mamie (Maggio) Argento, Anthony lived in Jersey City before moving to Old Bridge 19 years ago.
Before his retirement in 1997, Anthony worked for Manischewitz & Harborside terminal as a Longshoreman for over 35 years.
Anthony enjoyed trips to Atlantic City and loved horse races, cards and dice. He was an avid NJ Devils fan and die-hard New York Mets and Dallas Cowboy fan.
Anthony is predeceased by his loving son Anthony Argento, Jr. (2007); his 4 dear sisters and 3 devoted brothers. He is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years Ellen (Hughes) Argento; his 3 loving daughters Terry (and her late husband Juan) Vidal, Laurie (and her husband Tony) Soluri & Linda Argento; his 7 grandchildren; his 4 great-grandchildren and several nieces & nephews. Anthony leaves behind Bridgette who was as close to him as his daughters.
Friends and relatives are invited to attend visitation Friday, August 28, 2015 from 2-4pm & 7-9pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:15 am Saturday, August 29, 2015 at St. Thomas the Apostle RC Church 333 NJ-18 Old Bridge, NJ 08857. A private cremation will directly follow.
