Marjorie A. McKay, 71, of Olathe, Kansas passed away surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, October 8, 2015. She will forever be remembered as a devoted mother, loving grandmother and friend to everyone she met. Marjorie was born on December 13, 1943 in Union Town, Pennsylvania to William and Frances (Stramat) Mann. She attended and graduated from North Highlands High School in California. She married the love of her life Glen McKay in February of 1966. Through this union their son James was born.
Marjorie worked as a lead assembly worker for Honeywell. She enjoyed the outdoors among the flowers, plants and birds. Her favorite times were the times she spent with her family playing cards, board games, knitting and crocheting. She cherished the times she spent with her granddaughter Lylli Mae. Together they would read their favorite books, go to the movies and shop for antiques.
Marjorie is preceded in death by her parents, William and Frances Mann and her loving husband of 40 years Glen McKay. She is survived by her son James McKay and his wife Marcee of Merriam, Kansas. Left behind to cherish her memory is her beloved granddaughter Lylli Mae McKay. Marjorie is also survived by other siblings and her loving pet companion "Fudge". She will be sadly missed.
Funeral services will be 12:00p.m. Monday, October 12th at the McGilley & Frye Funeral Home 105 East Loula Street Olathe, Kansas. Interment in Olathe Memorial Cemetery 738 North Chestnut Olathe, Kansas. Visitation will be 11:00a.m to 12:00p.m. Monday, October 12th at the funeral home prior to the service.
