John Henry Jensen

A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, October 11, 2024 at First Christian Church, 200 East Loula Street, Olathe, Kansas. The family will receive friends at first Christian Church at 1:00 PM prior to the Celebration of Life.

He was the son of Henry and Dorothy Brown Jensen and grew up in Iowa, Illinois and Kansas. John was involved in Boy Scouts and was an Eagle Scout. He remained involved with Boy Scouts for many years and wore many hats in that organization. He was also heavily involved in DeMolay during his high school years.

He received his Master’s Degree in Accounting from Kansas State University. He was an accountant for UPS until his retirement.

He married Susan Green in 1972. They were married for 52 wonderful years. They enjoyed camping, NASCAR races and spending time with kids and grandkids.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Dorothy Brown Jensen, many aunts and uncles and brother-in-laws, Michael Green and Jim Erickson.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Susan Green Jensen, sons Christopher (Kerri), Robert and Dennis (Shannon) Jensen and daughter, Laura (Kenny) Sappenfield, his sister, Karin Jensen Erickson, seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
